Testimonials

I signed up for lessons with Cody having shot only occasionally, mostly on vacation. I would have been happy just to have a few lessons using my late father’s pump shotgun. Cody made clear that if that’s what I wanted, he would happily help me enjoy some nostalgic days on a beautiful sporting clays course. He made me feel comfortable and welcome from day one.

Cody’s genuine teacher’s heart and spirit of hospitality made those first few outings so much fun, I kept coming back. The great thing about his teaching style is that it’s so adaptable. If you want to have a little fun, he’s a superb host. If you want to get better at shooting, he’s a seasoned and experienced instructor. I’ve brought friends to shoot with Cody, and they rave about how much fun they had. I’ve also seen my own skills improve because of Cody’s insightful coaching.

My respect for Cody has grown each passing week and month, as I see him encourage young shooters and help experienced shooters up their game. He’s a consummate professional and a true gentleman, and I’d recommend him to anybody.

“I still can’t believe that I broke 90 today! It almost feels like a dream! I felt focused and I was able to pick out good hold points and treat every bird the same. I look on the days I would come out and have a bird right in my face and still think, “ how do you even hit those birds?” Now its second nature to me. About a year and 1/2 ago, I really struggled getting out of motocross and finding something different. Then my mom found Cherokee rose online. I remember not really even being excited to go. I just thought that it was going to be another one of the things that I try and don’t like. And as soon as I broke my first bird, (number 3 on five stand. It’s like the free space in bingo 😂) I loved it. I truly do believe that I would had gotten into it but never would have picked up in it or wanted to continue if I didn’t have you guiding me every step on the way. I had no clue what it was really like to do it and you helped me see that. I look back of when I used to shoot in the 40s regularly and how far I have come. I believe that I would still be shooting in the 40’s if I never met you. I don’t know how to thank you enough for all you’ve done for me. I’m so very thankful for everything you have done.”
